All Battle themes are short (1 minute or less) because battles don't usually last too long. Battle is all fast-paced dramatic and evil themes, while Explore is slow-paced and airy or majestic themes. Actually, I DID use The Ride of the Rohirrim! The first 44 secs made a great Battle theme and most of the rest was ideal for an Explore theme! Skyrim Arrowhead Sticker: "I used to be an arrow, but then I took an adventurer in the knee" This horse is fitted with inflatable rubber safety adventurer" Oblivion Horse Rump Sticker: "No sharp objects. The epic orchestral soundtrack really suits Morrowind perfectly! Personally, I've replaced my Morrowind music with MP3 snippets from my Lord of the Rings film soundtrack CD collection. All other MP3's in the Special folder will be ignored. The files are Morrowind Title.mp3 (title music), MW_Death.mp3 (player death) and MW_Triumph.mp3 (level-up). If you replace these, the filenames must be EXACTLY the same as the originals otherwise the game will display an error dialog whenever it tries to find them. In the Special folder, the game looks for three specifically named MP3 files ONLY. You can place ANY MP3's in the Explore and Battle folders and the game will choose one at random every time the "mood" changes between exploration and battle. Under here are 3 subfolders, Explore (exploration music), Battle (music that kicks in when a Creature/NPC attacks) and Special (title, death and level-up music). You can place your own MP3 files in the Morrowind\Data Files\Music folder. Then there are various music packs you can download. Rain and thunder during bad weather sounds especially good! On the audio side, there's also the excellent Atmospheric Sound Effects 3.0, which adds over 600 new ambient sounds, making towns sound more alive, caves/tombs sound more foreboding, etc. Not only does it give you a step-by-step guide to correctly installing Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon with ALL the latest patches and fixes, but it also has links to the bulk of the most popular mods that beautify the graphics and give the gameplay more realism.įor PC's with decent video cards, I'd certainly recommend a high resolution texture pack (my favourite is Visual Pack 3.0), Better Bodies/Heads/Beasts, Darknut's Creature textures. The Morrowind Expanded site is an excellent resource.
